Seattle Prep Overpowers Ballard In 57–6 Blowout Win

Seattle Prep made a commanding statement Friday night, defeating Ballard 57–6 with an impressive Metro League performance that highlighted the Panthers’ strength on offense, defense, and special teams.

After trading short possessions early, both teams struggled to establish a rhythm. Ballard had a chance to strike first after recovering a Seattle Prep fumble, but the Beavers couldn’t turn the opportunity into points. Quarterback Eli Gebbie showed promise with some early gains on the ground but was unable to convert through the air on key downs.

The breakthrough came late in the first quarter when Seattle Prep quarterback Leo Harnetiaux hit Ben Cunningham for a 75-yard touchdown, giving the Panthers a 7–0 lead. That play marked the beginning of a surge that Ballard never managed to contain.

The Panthers defense quickly forced another punt, and a 27-yard run by Reilly Cahill closed the first quarter with Prep threatening again. Cahill would finish that drive with a bruising 5-yard touchdown run to open the second quarter. Moments later, a miscue on Ballard’s next snap resulted in a safety as the ball sailed over Gebbie’s head and into the end zone.

On the ensuing kickoff, Beckett Archer took it to the house with an 80-yard return, putting Prep up 23–0. From there, the Panthers poured it on.

Harnetiaux ran in a touchdown and later threw back-to-back completions to Win Chandler, including a short scoring pass to make it 44–0 before halftime. Sam Davidson added to Ballard’s woes with an interception to help set up the final touchdown of the half.

Seattle Prep continued its control in the second half. Cahill and Callum Skillestad chipped away with effective runs, and Harnetiaux added another rushing score—his third touchdown of the night. The Panthers extended the lead to 51–0 midway through the third quarter.

Ballard finally responded late in the third. Gebbie connected with Indro Sypher on a fourth down and later hit Jackson Keller for a 25-yard touchdown to put the Beavers on the board. Still, it was far from enough.

Seattle Prep capped its night with an 11-yard touchdown run by Gavin Lines following a fumble recovery by Charlie Wattula, sealing the 57–6 final.

The Panthers’ dominance was visible in all three phases. Harnetiaux accounted for three total touchdowns and over 200 yards of offense. Cahill added 70 yards and a score, and Seattle Prep’s defense held Ballard to just one touchdown on the night while forcing multiple turnovers.

Following the loss, Ballard head coach Malik Prince acknowledged the impact of low player turnout and its effect on team performance.

“Only 17 out of 50 of us were out on that field,” Prince said. “Everyone needs to be held accountable. We had some good moments tonight, but we need everyone to be at practice to help us compete.”

Seattle Prep improves its standing in Metro play with the lopsided win and will look to carry momentum into the final stretch of the regular season.
