It was a dominant all-around team performance, highlighted by two long touchdown passes from Jayzen Babauta to Krew Carlentine, each followed by successful QB keepers for extra points. Austin Clemens added to the scoreboard with a 14-yard sweep to the right for a touchdown, followed by another sweep to the left for the extra point. The offensive line delivered phenomenal blocking, paving the way for all three touchdowns. On defense, the team held their opponents scoreless with multiple tackles for loss, a strip and fumble recovery, plus an interception by Oliver Ichinoe, another interception by Ben Gill, and a key sack by Cash. A true showcase of teamwork on both sides of the ball.
Mill Creek 26, Mariner 7
Mill Creek defeated Mariner 26-7 in a strong team performance. Aidyn Hughes led the way with 87 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns, and a 25-yard passing touchdown pass to Sevastian Galvan. Easton Mendoza powered the ground game with 144 rushing yards and 1 touchdown, while Karter Moore added 30 yards on the ground and recorded an interception on defense. Kendrick Parke also made a key play with a fumble recovery, helping secure the win.
Even though the Mariner 89ers fell to Mill Creek, the team showed heart and grit throughout the game. Brooklyn Frederick made a standout tackle against Mill Creek’s tallest player, #87, while Michael Spencer made his presence known with a big sack and an electrifying 60+ yard touchdown run. Nathan King added a strong 20-yard run and recovered a kickoff, helping shift momentum. The special teams stepped up as Aavi Mahler-Smith, Elias Thornton, David Neel, and Avari McAdory all had solid kickoff returns. Thornton also teamed up with Dominic Turner for a key tackle. #35 broke loose for an exciting 25-yard run, rounding out a game filled with determination and strong individual performances.
